The Weston Price Foundation has responded with this important Movement Alert.
On June 6, the FDA wrote to all state public nicely being and agriculture corporations advising them on the need to “collectively work to deal with new developments related to the presence of Extreme Pathogenic Avian Influenza A H5N1 (HPAI H5N1) in dairy cattle.”
Although admitting that “. . . we do not know proper now if the HPAI H5N1 virus may be transmitted to folks by consumption of raw milk and merchandise created from raw milk from contaminated cows,” the corporate recommends that nicely being and agriculture departments “Distribute messaging to most people in regards to the nicely being risks of consuming raw milk and raw milk merchandise” and “[i]mplement a surveillance testing program in your state to find out the presence of HPAI H5N1 virus in dairy herds that’s more likely to be engaged in producing raw milk for intrastate saleThe FDA and USDA will current “technical assist” in sampling and testing.
Their motive is clearly acknowledged: “For states that permit the sale of raw milk inside their state, use regulatory authorities or implement completely different measures, as relevant, to stop the sale of raw milk that may present a risk to clients.”
We’re in a position to assume from this memo that raw milk farmers may be receiving visits from officers eager to verify their milk for a non-existent virus using a bogus testing method, merely as they’ve carried out for flocks of chickens.
Fortunately, some hen farmers have averted this testing and prevented the slaughter of their animals by insisting that inspectors fill out two questionnaires.
- Inspector Information sort to accumulate the names and get in contact with information of those visiting their farm (beneath).
- Questionnaire for Inspector, which asks for proof of worthwhile isolation of the fowl flu virus, proof of contagious nature of the fowl flu virus, type of verify that may be used and get in contact with information of the lab that may be doing the testing (beneath).
Clearly, no inspector could have the power to current the data requested on the form, information that is the farmer’s correct to have. The hope is that they could depart and not at all come once more–as they’ve with astute hen farmers.
ACTION TO TAKE: Please share these varieties alongside along with your raw milk producer. We hope that these measures will cease the FDA’s deliberate shutdown of raw milk farmers.
